Lorenzo Duran Manuel Silva is a self-taught artist born in 1969, in Caceres, Spain. Just after birth, his parents took him to Germany and lived there until he was 8. After they settled in Madrid where he remained for over 25 years, and in 2004 he moved to Guadalajara, Spain.
Lorenzo Duran always make the cut with a scalpel or knife, in dry leaves. Lorenzo Duran have cut many leaves and at first the vast majority of them ended up in the trash, but Lorenzo Duran am slowly perfecting the method until they break so often. The entire process consists of: raking leaves, washing, drying, pressing them and cut them. While in the press Lorenzo Duran develop the drawing, which fixed the blade before going to cut it. Finally touches come off and the last step is the most delicate of all, because that is when the blade is fragile and can come all the way down, so that the work of days lost in a few minutes.
