Chandelier Turns a Room into a Forest

Hi, Folks...
How are you doing ?

Well the title of this post sounds interesting and little spooky as well. Isn't it ?

This is very creative chandelier by Hilden Diaz. It turns your room into forest.

Designers Hilden & Diaz have created a fixture that can transport you to a dark forest with the flick of a light switch. When you turn on this chandelier, you're suddenly engulfed in a tangle of tree-shaped shadows.

Well Hilden Diaz is a collaboration  between two  artists Thyra Hilden and Pio Diaz. In 2005, the two artists founded the partnership Hilden & Diaz and gathered their artistic interests. Thyra Hilden came from exploring existential ambiguity in her photographs and video installations and Pio Diaz worked with political and social critique through interventions in public space. The strength and dynamic of Hilden & Diaz as collaborating artists is due to their cultural and artistic differences.

The designers say that this light sculpture, titled Forms in Nature, was inspired in form by the drawings of naturalist Ernst Haeckel. But the chaotic beauty of the chandelier is overshadowed by its effect on the room around it. Forms in Nature isn't available for sale yet, but the designs say it is currently in production.

The Light sculpture Forms in Nature resembles Darwinist Ernst Haeckel’s drawings . Using a simple action, such as intensifying the brightness at the centre of the artwork, the light transforms the space and adds character, as the work throws oversized shadows onto walls and ceilings in the space in which it hangs.

Forms in Nature is a artwork with a light source surrounded by a dense and unruly tree and root system created in miniature sculpture. The forest is mirrored around it’s horizontal central axis and forms a circle 360 degrees around the light source and thereby leads one onto the notion of a real world versus an underworld.

The shadows engulfs the room and transforms the walls into unruly shadows of branches, bushes and gnarled trees. Mirroring are thrown out upon the walls and ceilings and provide weak Rorschach-like hints of faces, life and flow of consciousness. Dimming the lights transforms the installation and one senses a weak fire burning deep in the centre of the forest.

Well it looks amazing....!! O_O I'm stunned by their creativity. Would you like to have one these huh ??
