Tree of Life Poster by Degree

Hi Folks...!!
How are you doing ??
Well Today's post is on Tree of Life by Degree.

But there is a meaning to this Tree of Life.

What is Tree of Life ?

The concept of a tree of life has been used in science, religion, philosophy, and mythology. A tree of life is a common motif in various world theologies, mythologies, and philosophies. It alludes to the interconnection of all life on our planet and serves as a metaphor for common descent in the evolutionary sense. The term tree of life may also be used as a synonym for sacred tree.

The tree of knowledge, connecting to heaven and the underworld, and the tree of life, connecting all forms of creation, are both forms of the world tree or cosmic tree, according to the Encyclopædia Britannica, and are portrayed in various religions and philosophies as the same tree.

Well it has it's different meaning in religion and mythology in various countries and religion. Let's not go in detail. I've given just basic meaning of Tree of Life.

But it is quite interesting.

Tree of Life Poster by Degree trees posters and prints animals

Well me all must may some attention to this poster...We should think how we all depend on our nature.

Tree of Life Poster by Degree trees posters and prints animals

The rings of the tree are created with tiny animals.

The lives of animals revolve around their living space, the rainforest. And since animals are not able to speak for themselves, the destruction of their habitat leaves them suffering in silence.
This unique poster aims to highlight the responsibility we have in letting animal species thrive in their natural environment—we have a choice whether or not to preserve nature and let it grow. Specially designed to assert this crucial message, it forms the basis of social attitudes towards Mother Nature for the many people out there who want to make a difference in our world.

Design Note: The Tree of Life print has been specifically designed to replicate a “rubber stamp” effect. This effect will result in certain portions being lighter, a little sketchy and sometimes even outlined, as compared to the rest of the poster. Please note that this is not a defect but an intended effect, as intended by Aaron, Gary and Khairul, the designers of the poster.

Tree Ring Lights by Judson Beaumont

Hi...
How you doing ??
Well Today's post is on creative and smart piece. You can either use it as stool or table.

Tree Ring Lights by Judson Beaumont wood trees lighting furniture

These funky tree lights were designed by Judson Beaumont of Straight Line Designs, a furniture design firm out of Vancouver. Called Tree Rings the lights are made out of a beetle pine shell topped with mirrored Plexiglas that allows the embedded cool fluorescent light to shine through in the dark. I’m not sure of the practical application, but it appears the lights can be used as as small tables and bear enough weight to act as a stool. The pieces debuted last summer at Duthie Gallery.

The Tree Rings came about after we were invited once again to take part in the Summer Lights show on Salt Spring Island. Since we have been working with large amounts of split Pine Beetle wood recently, we saw it fit to take our idea for the colour-tinted resin tops to the outdoors with these illuminated pieces.

During the day they are a nice perch for your feet or your drink or your . Simple and playful.

At night however, they transform into something else entirely. Illuminated from within, the different coloured tints in the acrylic resins flood the surrounding area with a bright and lively luminescence .

Summer Lights features illuminated works of  art in the environment, artifice in nature, pieces of public art made to be visible in the dark. Viewable from distances and infinite perspectives, they  illuminate the trails and the towering trees of the Woodworks landscape and transform it into a new place, startling, playful and beautiful.  Each piece changes and evolves through the day in different lights and times and weathers.

Well it's pretty amazing..!! Isn't it ??

Lamps Made from Sawmill Waste and Tree Branches Embedded with Resin and LEDs

Hi, Folks..!!
Today's post is on lamp. This is an amazing and very creative lamp created by an Italian designer. It is made out of sawmill Waste.

Isn't it Cool ?? To me it is wow...!! O_O

Italian designer Marco Stefanelli's most recent Brecce Collection includes beautiful reclaimed logs and cement blocks with slivers of light coming through. The collection, which was debuted earlier this year at the Milan Furniture Fair, mixes technology with craft, resulting in pieces that are literally timeless. Stefanelli takes objects that have reached the end of their life cycle, such as scrapwood from a sawmill, and given them a second chance, by combining them with cast resin embedded with LEDs.

Stefanelli creates his Brecce lamps by cutting a sliver of the log out, then making a silicone cast of the removed piece and then placing the light within the casted silicone. The lamps are assembled with screws or by locking the parts together and are finished with natural wax or with linseed oil. They vary in sizes, some small enough to be placed on a bookshelf and some large and sturdy enough to use as stools.

The work of the breccias comes from the research of natural objects which, in some way, they arrived at the end of their life cycle. I'm from sawmill scraps, pieces of urban architecture, logs carried by the river, firewood ... To these objects he tries to give a second chance, pulling out the light from the subject and amplifying the sensory experience.

Minimalist Split Wood Lights and Sculptures by Split Grain

Hi Folks...!!
How have you been doing ? Well did you'll love my blog ??
Well today's post is much more interesting..
This lamp is very creative and amazing. Well after looking at this lamp you may buy it right away.

Minimalist Wood Sculpture Fine Art Wood Sculpture on Illuminated Glass Core

ILLUMINATED SCULPTURE

My illuminated sculptures reveal the elemental form and grain in a piece of Coastal Northern California Monterey Cypress. Fascinating details and hidden beauty are revealed from light emitting from the center of the sculpture, flowing out from each individual slice. A warm, white light traces the contours of the wood capturing beautiful patterns from all angles.

THIS PIECE

This piece has a great form to it, an intriguing shape from every direction. It is stout and bold with a beautiful pattern of light that is emmitted between each slice. It is a very dramatic piece in my collection. It has a 3 meter black cloth cord from Germany with a 2 prong plug and switch. 115v AC.

MAKING THIS SCULPTURE

This is truly a one-of-a-kind handmade, fine art sculpture made from an individual piece of wood taking more than 80 hours to complete. I find limbs from cypress trees and hand select, cut, and split each piece attempting to find a unique form. Most of the pieces I split are discarded as I look for only the most intriguing ones. Once I find a special piece, I further refine it, then slice it to bring out the details in the overall shape and grain, sand the faces to a fine surface, and finish with 3 layers of UV protecting clear urethane. The wood is drilled to accept a glass core and a rubber grommet to hold the slice around the glass. The base is carved out to fit a 350ma constant current LED driver, solid aluminum heat sink which protrudes as an architectural feature from the rear, light and lens. The wood is placed around the glass core illuminating it with a warm white (3000k) LED. A beautiful 3 meter German cloth-cord is attached to the sculpture with a Leviton switch 14” from the sculpture. A felt base for a scratch-free surface is attached to the bottom to complete the sculpture. The parts I use in this illuminated sculpture are UL and CE listed but the artwork itself is not listed or approved.

Chandeliers out of Recycled Bike Part

Hi, Folks...!!
How are you doing ??

I wonder sometime how we can reuse the stuff around us and make something creative out of it. Yes, we can reuse the stuff around and make something interesting.

You have read it right Chanderliers out of Recycled Bike Part. Well that sounds amazing. Below is the picture of chanderlier out of recycled bike part.

Recycled Bike Part Chandeliers Under a Texas Overpass recycling lighting bicycles

Recycled Bike Part Chandeliers Under a Texas Overpass recycling lighting bicycles

Well that looks awesome. Isn't it ?

Ballroom Luminoso is a series of six brilliantly lit, color changing chandeliers. Drawing from the formal elegance of the freeway underpass and the cultural currents of the surrounding neighborhoods, the piece transforms a forgotten space into one that connects the community.

Each globe contains a custom-designed LED light fixture, which casts sharply detailed overlapping shadows. The chandeliers paint the underpass with complex color patterns and ethereal lighting thereby refashioning the space into a majestic ballroom-cum-shadow theater. Melding grandeur with a sense of neighborhood rejuvenation, the sculptures weld recycled bike parts into refined forms.

Ballroom Luminoso references the area’s past, present, and future in the design of its intricately detailed medallions. The images in the medallions draw on the community’s agricultural history, strong Hispanic heritage, and burgeoning environmental movement. The medallions are a play on the iconography of La Loteria, which has become a touchstone of Hispanic culture. Utilizing traditional tropes like La Escalera (the Ladder), La Rosa (the Rose), and La Sandía (the Watermelon), the piece alludes to the neighborhood’s farming roots and horticultural achievements. Each character playfully rides a bike acting as a metaphor for the neighborhood’s environmental progress, its concurrent eco-restoration projects, and its developing cycling culture.

Creative and Amazing Forced Perspective Photography

Hi, Folks...!!
Today's post is on Creating Amazzing photos via Amazing perspective photography.

Well, What is this Forced Perspective Photography ? Hmmm...

Forced perspective is a photographic illusion generally used to make two or more objects seem to be a different size than their actual size. This type of forced perspective is made possible by the single lens of the camera. Unlike your eyes, which work in tandem to create depth perception, the camera only has one eye. As such, the camera has no depth perception, it sees things as flat. This is the same reason tree limbs in the background appear to grow out of the head of subjects in photographs.

Types of Forced Perspective

Forced Perspective generally falls into a few main categories.
  1. Making a main subject larger
  2. Making a main subject smaller
  3. Merging subjects
  4. Bending gravity

Common Forced Perspective Photos

While the opportunities for forced perspective are nearly limitless, there are some "standard" photos that have come to represent forced perspective purely because of how common these specific photos have become as they are copied many times.

  • Holding a landmark
  • Holding/eating the sun/moon
  • Holding another person in one hand
  • Toy larger than person/pet
  • People hanging from top of photo
  • Person stepping on another person
  • An older photograph or a sketch merged over a current scene

How to Take a Forced Perspective Photo

The process for taking a forced perspective picture varies depending on they type of forced perspective image you are creating.

How to Take a Gravity Defying Forced Perspective Photo
Defying gravity in a photo is one of the easiest forced perspective photographs to create. The basics of a gravity defying photo is to turn the photo upside down or on its side. Subjects will lay down on the ground with their feet on a wall as though they were sitting against the wall, multiple subjects can lay down on the ground at various locations to appear to be flying, or subjects can lean out of doorways to give the illusion of hanging. Don’t be afraid to experiment with your poses to find one that works best. Finding a location that works for this type of shot is the difficult part.

To find a location, look for a spot where a subject can lay down on the ground in such a way that you look like you are sitting against a wall and the camera can be positioned where the wall looks like the floor instead of a wall. Piers where reflections mirror the background also work well. Long hallways with doors or columns on either side allow subjects to lean into the hallway to suggest hanging or climbing out of the ceiling/floor once the photo is turned are excellent options as well.

Here are few examples and tricks as well

Pluck a Sphere of Light

Take that same idea and apply it in a new way and you’ve got the kind of photo that makes you look twice. To achieve this effect, photographer Lee ‘Mr. Moog’ used shallow focus and allowed the lens of his camera to render out-of-focus points of lights as little floating spheres. Perfect photo..!!

Blowing in the Wind

Photographer Jeppe Olsen took a whole set of forced perspective photos out in the Salar de Uyuni salt flats in Bolivia, which provide a minimalist background ideal for deceptive shots like this one, making both the foreground and background subjects stand out equally.

Toy Cars, or Giant Man?

This is definitely one of those photos that make you go, “what?” It’s hard to tell exactly how the photographer achieved this effect, but according to his Flickr, there was no Photoshop involved.

Well these were some the tips and tricks to create amazing forced perspective photos. I'll post soon part II of this.

Exotic Gourd Lamps by Calabarte

Hi, Folks...!! :)
Yes you all read it right. Exotic Gourd Lamps....Even I was pretty Shock for 1st time. Then looking at the creative lamps I was Stunned..!! o_O

The gourd is the annual tropical vine originating from Africa and Asia. Its dried, lignified fruits are used for various, both decorative and practical, purposes. There are several dozen varieties of gourds differing mostly in shapes and sizes. The structure of the dried gourd is entirely different than the structure of the standard wood. It is more homogenous; it does not contain growth rings, fibers or knots. The external layer of the gourd is harder than the deeper one of a light wood. For that matters, the gourd is kind of a phenomenon in the nature; it is the raw material that gives enormous processing possibilities.

Gourd
Before we move on to see Exotic Gourd Lamp...Let's read some of the facts and trivia of gourd.
  • In many cultures, gourds have been used to create utensils, containers, musical instruments and religious objects.
  • Masks have also been created from gourds and have been traced back through the centuries from records and drawings that were kept. Masks have been used in special ceremonies by primitive cultures worldwide.
  • Gourds were also used as medicine rattles and in ceremonies. This lead to the gourd becoming a link between the visible and invisible worlds. The gourd was considered a valuable part of culture and beliefs.
  • Gourds are believed to have originated in Africa. They are thought to have floated along ocean currents and that spread their use to other parts of the world.
  • It’s amazing how a plant that produces a fruit or vegetable has played such an important part in culture and history.

Polish artist Przemek, also known as Calabarte, sculpts beautiful patterns on African gourds which later become heads of his exceptional lamps. When you switch on one of his lamps, the light coming trough the cracks of the gourd turns a room into a dreamlike space.

Przemek studied building engineering and for several years he worked in the architectonic office.  However, in 2010 he have decided to quit his studies and  work and devote my time to doing something he loved the most. It was the time when he travelled to Senegal from where he brought African gourds which, since that time, became the raw material for my lamps.

Well here are some of his collections...!! :)

Very delicately and perfectly designed.

Minimalist Illustrated Quotation Posters by Ryan McArthur

Ryan McArthur  always found comfort in little witty one liners because most tap into one commonality that we all share… human nature. I really wanted to find quotations and snippets from my favorite books that not only provided a great visual to play off of, but that speak to life in general. I illustrate them all by hand using pen and ink and then digitally render them.

These are perfectly illustrated my Ryan in his Quotation Poster.

1) Oscar Wilde : " Be yourself; everyone else is already taken. "

2) Thomas Edison : "“Genius is one per cent inspiration, ninety-nine per cent perspiration.

illustration-quotations-ryan-mcarthur-5

3) Oscar Wilde: " Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess."

illustration-quotations-ryan-mcarthur-1

4) William Oldys: " Busy, curious, thirsty fly! Drink with me and drink as I"

illustration-quotations-ryan-mcarthur-3
William Oldys was born in 1696. He was the illegitimate son of the Chancellor of Lincoln, a collector of rare books, a librarian, the author of The Life of Sir Walter Raleigh and a poet.

On a Fly Drinking Out of his Cup

Busy, curious, thirsty fly!
Drink with me and drink as I:
Freely welcome to my cup,
Couldst thou sip and sip it up:
Make the most of life you may,
Life is short and wears away.

Both alike are mine and thine
Hastening quick to their decline:
Thine's a summer, mine's no more,
Though repeated to threescore.
Threescore summers, when they're gone,
Will appear as short as one!

 5) Victor Hugo: "All animals are to be found in men and each of them exists in some man, sometimes several at the time.

illustration-quotations-ryan-mcarthur-12

 6) William Hazutt: " Art must anchor in nature or it is the sport of every breath of folly."

illustration-quotations-ryan-mcarthur-4

 7) Samuel Johnson: "Nature never gives everything at once."

illustration-quotations-ryan-mcarthur-6

 8)  Oscar Wilde: "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars."

illustration-quotations-ryan-mcarthur-7

9)William Simms: " It is a bird-flight of the soul, when the heart declares itself in song."

illustration-quotations-ryan-mcarthur-8

 10) Thomas Moore: "If with water yo fill up your glasses, You'll never write anything wise."

illustration-quotations-ryan-mcarthur-9
